Its against the law for anyone under 18 to get a tattoo here in Arkansas.

Personally I am all for tattoos

But I would make them wait

A lot of the time something they want at 16 is something they want to get removed at 30, ya know?

A lot of tattoo parlors won't touch anyone under 18 even with a parents consent.

No. My dd wanted her first tattoo at 16. We told her that we wouldn't sign for her to get any tattoos, she'd have to wait until she was 18. She respected that and waited. On her 18th birthday she got her first tattoo. She paid for it as well.

Nope. But then that's illegal here.

Nope! I got one at 19, but my design I thought about for nine months ... THE SAME design before I committed to it with my own money.

It isn't picking out a pair of earrings or a purse you can return. As a parent, and not a friend. , say NO. You are still in charge of all attire and absolutely in control of any body modifications.

Even if you have them yourself, you have no need for feeling guilty for an adamant. NO!

Not until you are a full blown adult who can pay for it yourself.

( watch for the sudden need to go to Mexico. No parent permission at 15 due there)

If it were me, not my CHILD, but my SIL let my nephew by his uncle. ( he'll regret it.... The design is not his personality as he grows into adulthood.

So no. Gotta be other wants on her list. She may pout, but that's a teen.

Just WHAT is so important she wants it inked anyway?

Not until 18 and they pay for them.  They still knew we didn't like them or agree with tattoos.  They are adults at 18.

Is that even legal where you are?

Yes. I would. On her side, though? Do you think that's a bit large? Has she considered the same design for at least a year? 16 is legal in my state and I'd be fine.
