DD15 is doing her pre-reading for English, as we are currently on summer break. One of the books they are studying this year every one of my kids has studied at some point, so this is the copy's fourth trip in to the classroom. She just came out of her room declaring "LOOK AT THE CONDITION! THIS BOOK IS RUINED! WHY CANT YOU GUYS TAKE CARE OF ANYTHING?"

This was the thing that has ruined the book. DD17 and DS20 both state that the offending question marks and arrow were there when they had it, which leaves DD22 as the culprit. She's going to wake up this morning to a text from her sister with a photo of the question marks.

Apparently DD15 is going to go and buy her own, non-ruined copy today.

I remember reading it when it first came out, the hype surrounding it was insane.

My daughter dog-ears her books (turns down the corners) and it drives me bonkers!  Especially when it's MY book!!  But I remember doing the very same thing when I was her age.  What is the title of the book?

I dog ear too. In defense of your dd, we can't help ourselves! It's a disease 😉

Looking For Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta.

Just about every kid in Australia studies it at some point in high school, there is also a film adaptation.
