Hello. I am new to the group but already feel as though I belong.
I have had some experience with teenagers for sure! My first set of children were stair step in age. They all turned into teens nearly at once and man! Was that a ride... lasting some 11 years! I finally got those 3 grown and along came my two youngest... who soon after, reached their teens years! They are now 17 & 14.
Girls... I AM tired! I still don't have a clue and am thinking maybe I am just stuck in a bad dream!?? At any rate, I am happy to be aboard with other moms who must know exactly where I am coming from. Welcome to the twilight zone, huh?

When the kids were small, I remember complaining that they were always one up on me, that by the time I'd gotten used to whatever stage they were in, they moved onto the next one and I had to start the process all over again. I could never catch up. Now, having a 14 yr old and a 16 yr old, I kind of equate it to that really, really small light at the end of a really, really long tunnel. You know it's there because you can see it, but it feels like you'll never get there.
Trust me, I don't have a clue, either. Just when I think I've figured them out, they do a 360 on me. There are days when I don't feel so smart, and plenty of them.
welcome to the group.teen years are certainly fun!! Kinda like the rollercoaster ride that never ends.

Thank you all for your warm welcome. I am at the stage now where car insurance has doubled and although my son works two jobs, he doesn't really make the money to make a difference. My daughter will be 15 this month and is talking about getting her permit. I am already thinking maybe she won't get her driver's license until she is 18, to avoid this mess again. I been here before.
So, our arguments as of late, has been about money. He thinks he gets to go shopping every payday. Grrrr! Even IF I had the money to afford the extra cost, I'd still require him to pay his share because it is the right thing to do as a parent. No need to allow them to think money is spendable... not in this day and age anyway. Sadly, unless you further your education and get a good job... payday is just exchange day. Gotta get that, or they'll end up without anything.
