 I paused outside your room today,

You didn't see me there.

I watched awhile as alone you played;

You were brushing your dolly's hair.

My necklace was around your neck,

My earrings on your ears.

And as I listened to what you said,

I felt a rush of tears.

I don't have time to play right now,

I'm busy, cant you see

And though you were talking to your doll,

I knew you were echoing me.

The dishes - let them wait awhile,

and the laundry and polishing too.

I've more important things on my mind;

Sharing time, my child, with you!

I thought this was sweet and wanted to share it with you guys.
