I just finished reading 'Gentle Birth Choices' by Barbara Harper and i wanted to share what a great book it was (so great that it only took me 4 days to read it) i reccomend it to anyone who is having an out of hospital birth. I am going to pick p my held copy of 'Birthing from within' today at my local library.
Being that this is my fourth pregnancy but my first unmedicated out of hospital birth i find myself thirsty for any amount of knowledge that i can regarding birth and the more that i learn the more excited i get about the whole prcess. I am amazingly unafraid at this point and look forward to the entire experience of laboring and birthing in a spiritual and physical way that i now realize hat i missed out on with my previous births.
anyway...i just wanted to share... :) hope that everyone is having a great day today, even though it is monday. :)
I've got quite a few books on hold at my library. i search online thru their catalogs and then put in on hold at the closest branch so that when it is available they e-mail me that i can pick it up.
i have on hold aside from 'birthing from within' that i'm picking up today...
ina may's guide to childbirth
The birth partner: a complete guide to childbirth for dads, doulas and other labor companions
i also just added spiritual midwifery :)
hey...maybe we sdhould make a sticky for good books to read or even movies to see. :)
