Ok so I've switched again back to having the baby either at home or at a hotel near the hospital (for hubby's peace of mind). What I'm wondering is what kinds of things you ladies have used in a homebirth or will be using. I've seen the general lists/kits on several websites but I'm not so sure about buying a kit. I was thinking more like just gathering the supplies myself (because I may be able to get a lot of it cheaper) and was curious as to what you ladies used. I have heard that flannel backed table cloths work better than shower curtains at containing messes so I'm planning to buy a few of those at a dollar store along with puppy training pads. Any help or advice you ladies have would be wonderful.

i am also interested in knowing and i"m going to start a list of things that i need to get and start accumulating piece by piece. mothering.com has a list of home birth supplies that you may or may not choose to use during your birth and there are some good ideas on there in the home birthing section.
I don't know if you read my post on the other July 2009 group but unfortunately my dreams of a homebirth have gone down the drain. Due to a placenta abruption (for no known reason) my son was born via emergency c-section last friday April 17. I do wish the rest of you ladies well and sincerely hope you get the births that you want and deserve :)
wow...i haven't been on in a while so i hadn't read that. I read it just now and i'm really glad that everything is okay. I'm 26 weeks now and can't imagine having my baby. What a tiny little thing he is. I'm so glad that he was born with a strong and healthy zest for life. He is a real doll baby. :)
