I have been studying Islam since being introduced to it by a friend in April. I have read about close to a dozen books, havee watched endless videos on you tube and have been atteneding Friday prayer at the Masjid. Last week I felt it. I took my shahada. I am working on making the right changes. I am not yet ready to wear the hijab but i do find myself being very modest in my dress. Which I have been doing for awhile. I do pray, and I am working on the 5 times a day. My friend told me that it's a preocess that you won;t be perfect at first. But I was putting off my shahada until I was able to do all these things. And found out I could take my shahada and continue to grow and larn and get better. That I didn;t have to be a perfect Muslim right away. That was a relief. I am very proud of my decision and work everyday to do better and be better. Thanx for reading, I just needed to share.

MashAllah and Welcome to the Deen (Islamic Way of Life)!!!!! I took my shahadah 12 yrs ago on April 8 and it has truly been a journey....stay strong and if you have any questions feel free to ask!!!!
Alhamdulillah , i convert/ revert almost four years ago .I went in full throttle but everyone does things a little different to hear a little of your process was very warming and uplifting my Allah ( SWT) grant you success and bless you with what going to be good for you in the Dunya and the next. Please do not be afraid to contact any of the sister here or the masquid when you need to ,i have found them to be of great help and a source of releif from test and trail.
I was the same way as you I thought I had to perfect everything and read and know everything before I converted but it is a process! I just knew that I had to convert and submit my life to God before it was too late!
