I'm not necessarily unsure on a homebirth doula, but I figure that if I find one that is comfortable with UP and with me, then I'm fine with having a doula present, however, I'm not holding out hope.
A lot of the doulas in my area are most hospital-birth. They're fine with Natural birthing, however, the concept of UP makes most women's heads roll in this area. They all look at me like I have three heads and frankly, it bugs me. I don't want someone there who will only support me half way and then encourage me to go to the hospital the next chance I get.
So, with that in mind, I thought I'd ask this group. If there are any homebirth and UP-accepting doulas in the Springfield, Missouri area, feel free to message me. I'd love the chance to get to know you, even if I don't choose to share my birth with a doula.
