I made my first diaper with a good pattern I found on Internet it had the measurements for each size and age. I put some Velcro because that was all I could found. It fit my son well and the first cloth diaper try went great. I have more fabrics (flannel) and I plan to do more to start my stash.

This is the info I found.

There are many guides on how to make cloth diapers but not many on making your own diaper pattern. It can take a lot of research to figure out what measurements should be for each size and what approximate weight they fit. This will help take away some of the mystery so you can start making diapers for an expecting baby or even begin your own cloth diaper business.

Newborn (Rise can go lower or have a fold down snap for newborn umbilical cord) Approximately 7-11 lbs depending on baby.
Rise 13-14
Crotch 5-6
Back 13-14
Front 7-8

Small (Infant) 10-15lbs
Rise 16-17
Crotch 5.5-7
Back 14-16
Front 8-9

Medium (15-25 lbs)
Rise 17-19
Crotch 5.5-7
Back 16-18
Front 9-10

Large (Toddler)
Rise 18-20
Crotch 6-8
Back 18-19
Front 10-12
