Do any if you wonderful ladies know of a free pattern for little boys boxer briefs (about 4t)? My DD has started complaining that her panties hurt her and we've tried different sizes and styles and she still complains. TIA!

You could try a shorties pattern instead. Katrina's pattern is free; the XL longies is about 4T, just shorten up the inseam. I use a training pants pattern to make undies for DS, and those fit a bit differently than panties would too. I don't know of any free boxers patterns...I just modeled mine off of a pair DS already had. You could use shorts too, and maybe just cut down on the length/width by a couple inches.

I actually want to get that pattern, but I can't until next month.  I was hoping to find a free one in the mean time...

I found two, but they might be a little big: http://underwear.sew-ing.com/classic.html (37" hips) and http://underwear.sew-ing.com/boy.html (22" waist, 30" hips).

Hope you can make the adjustments needed to make it fit! If not, I do have a Simplicity pattern I was given that ranges from 24-51" hips, so maybe I could have a look at that and help you figure it out. Or heck, DS is almost a 4T at this point, so if I could find my danged scanner and all of its paraphernalia I suppose I could update my pattern and share it with you =) A month is an awfully long wait with uncomfy panties!

Thanks, I've seen those too.  I'm pretty sure she's just being a stubborn 4 yr old, though, because once she wears the panties for a little while, she says they feel fine.  If she still said they hurt after "getting used to them" then I would have no problem buying the pattern right now.

She have any sensory problems? I've developed random new ones (for example, as of several months ago I can't have cloth of any sort in my mouth, it tastes tinny in a way I can't stand. Even the cotton gauze they give you after tooth extractions - oi!) but I'm already inclined toward that. The side seams in panties do bother me some until I manage to push it out of my mind, and if the leg elastic is starting to wear apart it drives me crazy. I guess she'd probably tell you if it was one of those things bothering her, though. Maybe letting her pick out a fabric to make her panties from would have her so excited she'd be begging to wear them =P

Good luck =)

I don't think she has any sensory issues... although my mom (a retired speacial ed teacher) swears she is border-line OCD.  And the panty thing is something new she's started just in the last week or two.  I always let her pick out her own panties when we buy them, as well as in the morning when she gets dressed.  She did the same thing with close toed shoes about 6 months ago... *sigh*  Hopefully she'll grow out of it.  Thanks for all your help!
