I am expecting baby #3 and we have decided to cloth diaper this little one. I am wanting to make some diapers but I dont know how much fabric I should buy? Thanks so much ladies!
Yep! What kind of fabric, what kind of diapers... You will need more than one kind of fabric to make whole diapers, unless you just plan to make inserts and buy covers, or vice versa?
I can get 6-8 OS diaper cuts from a yard of 60" wide fabric.
it variesgreatly depending on the size style and pattern as well as how wide the fabric is
I can usually get 6 OS diaper cuts from a yard of PUL. Fleece should be about the same?
For inserts... the only thing I've ever used is Bamboo fleece and french terry. I got the same number from each (fleece shrinks, terry doesn't... but terry is thinner, so I needed 3 layers), which was about 4 inserts per yard. This was without cutoff, so I made them rectangular (so they could be folded either way to change the size).
for me i use either fleece or minky inner and i get 6 one size and my own pattern which i have a little on the bigger size so i can inner change them to fit my almost 3 year old down to an, at the time, three month old and for incerts i use bamboo fleace and micro wich i can get 8 towles and a yard to make 8 incerts. you can always write me and ill help you with any questions you have!!!
