I just started sewing diapers. I started with the babyville for practice and it said to use 3/8". Now that I had success, I bought the nykibaby and it says to use 1/4". So what do you use in yours for os diapers ir med/large size?

I use 3/8 in my NykiBaby dipes. I think it holds up better than 1/4

And do you follow the elastic marks? or do you measure your elastic?

I prefer 3/8 its only slightly wider, and seems to hold up better.

3/8" has more rebound to it than 1/4"; if you're encasing it may not make much difference as long as it's got plenty of room to retract, but when sewing down the length it's certainly better to use 3/8".

Yeah I have a very tall torso chunky thigh girl that I have a hard time with fit. plumbers crack galore lol, and marked thighs. I made one nykibaby today with the 1/4" today and don't like it the elastic. Will use the other for the next time.
Quoting Jeremmy:1/4 will give a tighter fit, its great for nb/sm diapers. I use 3/8 for all sizes. Although, to be fair, my baby was so big that I think I just sewed maybe one small diaper lol Anything bigger than nb/sm I would say 3/8 (but it really is personal preference).

I measured my elastic in the beginning to make sure it was even and did a 3 step zig zag, but now that I've mad a gazillion dipes I know how tense the elastic needs to be and just stretch it right from the roll
