When sewing on FOE do you use a regular zig zag or a 3 step?

The pattern I have says either of those is fine. I don't use foe so I don't have any experience with it so bump!

Thanks. I did end up using the 3 step. Wasn't as bad as I thought except my machine would loop every couple stitches.

The 3 step helps keep the stitches from popping when stretched, so yes, I use the 3 step.

Well see there's a technical reason. Never thought of that. Thanks

I don't like the look of the zig zag stitch, so I just do a straight stitch when sewing FOE.

So do you do a stretch knit stitch to keep it from popping?  I do like that staight stitch look better.

No? I don't even know what that is! It's just the normal straight stitch. I  have covers going on 18 months with no issues.
