Snap questions =)

So i found the fabric I wanted and ordered it now I need to figure out the whole snap thing. I found a gazillion types of snaps (well not really) at the snapstore.com. They are different colors and sizes.

What size is typically used? Does snap size matter?

Also do you really have to buy a $60-$80 snap setter? OR is there another way to do them? Or even just a cheaper setter to use that will do the job?  Im planning on making about 27 diapers with 12 snaps on them (just one side or the other) if that helps any =)

I have the same question..I know that people have said that the metal snap press doesn't work. I hope someone gives you advice because I'd really like to know too!
