...literally! I have got to do something about the elastic on the legs of these diapers!! I have just got covered in poop AGAIN!!! And my poor boppy is turning yellow!!!!! GAH!!

Do you stitch over it, or use a casing? I had problems with my leg elastic too - the stitches were keeping it stretched out. The only way I could get them to behave is to case the elastic in when I topstitched the diaper.

Oh, that's not cool!   Appropriate title though :)

I agree that casing in the elastic instead of sewing down it might make it better.

Just curious, how do you case around the elastic? do you sew on the inside of the elastic? Can someone show me?

This is a pretty good tutorial. I tack it to the seam allowance instead of just inside the seam, but otherwise that's how I do it. Here's another way:

ok i'm pretty sure the lack of casing didn't help... soo i will be trying that from now on... but Toad had diharrhea, that's why the liquid poop was just eeking out the diaper. it took me a few poops to realize that was what was goin on.

I haven't done a casing in anything but a skirt,... wish me luck!

that's how i do it too!  i found that it makes the legs stretchier to not sew it down and you don't see at all where you tacked it down either.
