Must we forget what Peter said about the prophet Joel at the day of Pentecost?

Any thoughts on this?

Acts 2:16-17 (NKJV)  "But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: (17) 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of my Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.'

This was speaking of the day of Pentecost when the people were filled with the Holy Spirit in the Upper Room, and some on the outside thought those inside were drunk because of what they believed to be gibberish coming from their mouths when it was actually other tongues.

This is another of the time statements I've been speaking about.  If THOSE were the last days, why do people keep saying WE'RE in the last days?

Something doesn't compute!

Ugh...no kidding.  And this is coming from someone w/o a bias.  I really do think that Jesus thought he was living in the last days and that many prophecies in the bible were after-the-fact accounts.  Now, I believe this because of the books I read (ironically, not one of the being the bible, it's on my list though.  I have one, it's a good one, I just need to crack it open).  I read books and blogs and articles from biblical scholars that I like.  I just happen to trust their interpretation of the bible.  If other biblical scholars feels different, that's fine.  I'm not saying that I'm right, I'm simply stating what I have read. =))

You know, the one site I've found very helpful is www.eschatology.org

I've met this man personally, and he knows what he's talking about.  In fact, when I was sitting on the fence about the second coming teaching, he helped me make up my mind once and for all.

Check the site out!  I'll bet you find it very informative as I have.
