group owner question

I have a question about the group owners participation. How often should the group owner sign on, and be active? I am wondering if you have rules about this or not. Thanks

no rules but "Group Owners" should be "Active". If your group is slow(non participation)at least say a hello daily.

Per CafeMom Group Guidelines, you are required to check-in on your group regularly.  We don't have a set time for "regularly", but we think the more you check into your group the more successful it will be.

If you are away from the group too long, we might send you a note asking you if you would like to keep the group or would like help finding a new group owner.

I am in my group daily but it is very active, I am Admin for several others and I check in daily in all groups mine and the ones I am the Admin for. Why to see if anyone needs help and my group is so big I have too! So as a group owner if they see you then it becomes more active..

I hear this complaint alot.  The admins wind up doing all the work in the group and the owner doesn't show up for months.   Then they try contacting the owner with no response.   My advice is if the owner is that absent to write cafemom about it.  I know I'm in my group way too much. People ask me if I'm on 24/7 LMBO

Sorry - I already left the group.  The owner finally responded to my ? after a month and promised to get back to me that day and never did.  After waiting a week or two I left the group.  I figured if it was a no win situation.

I'm in my groups daily.  More then 4 times a day.  I make posts, games, and respond to stuff as well.  My admins are active just as much as I am.  Of course I think I do more work then they do, but it's my groups so I expect it.

 hey my name is fern and I own 8 groups ans always looking for more....zi check in on my groups at least 3 times a day...You seee I'm disable and Cm is all i have and i have many many close friends ...Some of my groups are not doing so great and some are doing really well... So some of the ones that arent doing so well I have changed things aroung and gave them a new name and a new look....And i still have time for everyone........fern

Hi Amber - just thought I would up date you.  Yesterday I received a message from the GO of the group that I was talking about.  She was finally responding to a pm I sent her on 3/5 - that is almost a month later.  I dont even think she knows that I am no longer with the group.  I responded to her and I will bet that she wont repsond to me for another month.  Its this kind of lack of communication that  makes it frustrating for admins.  I think that there should be better rules for GO's or admins should have more abilities.  Maybe every group should have at least 1 admin or co-owner with equal abilities.  I know there is no perfect solution but it needs to be improved some how.
