Stop with these "improvements."
The site is NOT as user friendly as it was when I first joined, and about the time that we get used to the changes, more "improvements" are done. I understand that change can be good, but it also can be bad. Some of the ladies here just moved into the 21st century and learned a little about computers...enough to navigate the internet a little. Heck, I had to go to BUSINESS SCHOOL myself to learn what I know! We're not like the younger generation that practically learned the basics while still in diapers or at the very least, middle school. They can roll with the changes without effort, but it's not that way with many of us.
For this reason, many are leaving this site, and the marketing technique is backfiring. Whoever is telling you this is a good thing needs to be fired...literally. We give you feedback about what we like and don't, and it seems to fall on deaf ears. However, people are leaving the site because of it! It's been said in a group I'm in that Cafemom is like a ghost town now, and the lady is right. The member owned groups are growing inactive, and the "powers that be" make it hard to advertise said groups. However, CM owned groups get plenty of exposure! I thought the same ads would run both with CM and member owned groups? Did I miss something here? What's the harm in allowing us to have things like Journals (like we had before, not like it is now...done in a CM owned group) and other avenues to get the word out about our groups? Maybe if we had a "why" to all of this, it would help. There are some smart women on this site...explain to us how it benefits YOU, CM, to make all these changes, especially when you have members asking you not to and threatening to leave if you do. This makes for less exposure to your ads, which is why I assume the changes are made to begin with...more exposure.
Please consider re-instating many of the things you've taken away. I've been on this site nearly four years now, and it's NOTHING like it was when I joined. Back then, there were more avenues to connect with ladies, and things were just better overall. I understand things like bandwidth, but it's a guess that some of those things you've taken away have more to do with marketing than bandwidth.
I also know this will fall on deaf ears, but I had to at least make an attempt. Ladies, please put in what you'd like to see return or just vent.
