My vow

my vow....

I have always tried to post only what was needed to give God the glory. I heard in church yesterday something that is soooo true and one fof the reasons that I dropped one of my Christian groups.

My Pastor said that we should proclaim His Word not debate with others about religion...It got me thinking was I proclaiming it or debating. Although I rarely go back to a heated post to repost my "rebutle" my posts are not always proclaiming although they are true and most never even have a hint of how I feel only what is true, there are the start of what  would be a debate for me.

I will always support everyones post that is inline with the Word, I will do so by voting popular and adding any scripture that should be added to support what has already be started...I will be mindful to not start a debate.  This said I know that no matter what I say scripture or not others will target my post as a post to debate...but this way I know and so does God that I was there to proclaim His Word.  I can say anything in the post that is supported by the Word.  I think that we all want to be like Jesus and that is my goal...to be more like Him and less like my flesh.

God bless,

Sheri

Hi,

I just wanted to say, it's very hard not to sound like you're debating when it goes against the politacally correct views of our society today.  True born again Christians are not in the majority.  The Bible taken literally and not judged by us, just believed, is not always appreciated.  So, I am all for you standing up for God.  As you say, you do not have to debate.  If someone is asking, or if you are stating your opinion, that may not be a debate.  You know when to stop and so does someone else.  They can be debating their opinion, which, they get from somewhere.  I don't feel the need to apologize because my belief comes from the Word of God.  Other peoples views offend me to the heart, but they have to be able to give and TAKE.  God bless you for a heart that is concerned about your testimony.  Stay true to God, then men.    Acts 5:29

Would you mind explaining the reasons that your pastor said that we shouldn't debate about religion?

You know, I do think that we should always be prepared to defend our faith.  I am wondering why debate is wrong.  I have seen many people come to a new realization about God through a good healthy debate or discussion.  Thank you!

I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.
