The Nobel Peace Prize for President Obama

Wondering how the members feel about President Obama winning the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize?

 I don't think he deserved it just yet--he really hasn't done anything yet.  He has ideas--should've waited to see how they pan out.  Maybe in a few years he'll deserve this award.  I heard on the news that they had their list of who to choose from made up after Pres. Obama was in office only 11 days--waaaay to soon to put him on that.  I think he got this award more on the expectations of him than on what he's actually done so far.  (Good discussion topic, Jen).

   I don't think he did anything to deserve it other than he wasn't Bush.   There were I'm sure many other people considered who have actually done some noteworthy humanitarian deeds which would have so much more merited their being awarded it.    I can't make any sense out of it... but hey whatever.

I agree it was too soon to choose him over others that are and have been up for this award for some time

I agree with you all.  I was shocked when I heard that he got it.   I wonder if he was considered also due to the fact he was the first African-American President.

OK my personal opinion is , he got that for just being the first black president. Nobel Peace Prizes go to people who have created something that mankind can use or utilize for history, Like , Murrie Currie, she was giving the nobel peace prize,  becasue she created chemicals, that will be used for ever!!!!!, Martin Luthar king, gave a speech for all americans, will and is still being used for ever, "the DReam" ,

 I can go on..

So NO way he should have gotten a nobel peace prize, I beleive you need to DO SOMETHING!!! Andf that something needs to go into forever and be able to be used for ever..

Way toooo much recognition for this man, and lets me ask this,, I need the list of things that he has done.,  Wait, Not a list of things he WANTS to do, but what he has done already, Cant bring up bringing miliatry home, from the war, he brought home 1100 troops, only to send onver 20,000 other ones, so that was all a lie,.,,, anything else..

I heard he wants to take out the bowling alley out of the white house and put a basketball court in there>>???? Has any one heard this???

He is making rules as he goes, and the way i am seeing it, it is to benifit him and his wife and kids.....

 

no no no no on the pease prize for him,,, maybe if he found the cure for aids, or cancer, that deserves a peace prize...............

micheal jackson should have been giving a nobel peace prize, look at what he did for kids, that will go on for ever.............. he is in the guinus book of world records of most donationns to childrens foundations,. that my friend  is a nobel peace prize/...../

 

But now we have the swine flu............ hummmmmmmmmmmmm.... does someoen get a peace prize for creating this.. it will be used for years to come and  it will effect alot of people,, who create this??????? hummmmmmmmmm
