I have had a couple of job hunt support groups over the years, though this is my first virtual one. One of the first things that we do is review and critique each others' resumes. If you are interested, we can do this here, too. Please let me know what you think!

Make a list of each of your employers. List your responsibilities and accomplishments at each job. You will also need to list education, certifications, skills. Finally, you need to write a summary, or introductary paragraph.
You may have more than one resume; you may be considering differents types of job that require different sets of skills and experiences. You may have a are resume that includes volunteer experience that is pertinent to a specific job.
Did that help?

I would LOVE some crituqe on my resume. I have been a SAHM for the past 3.5 years. I have been semi-activly job hunting since Jan. That is when my son started pre-school full time. What also SUCKS is that I am unable to relocate. I also need help with coverletters. Technical writing about oneself is so damn hard.

Have you kept in touch with your professional network? If you don't have one, definitely start with a Linkedin profile, and add former coworkers.

Quoting jenlesly:I would like to submit my resume for review. I'm currently working 3 part time jobs, would like to narrow it down to 1 full-time job that can cover my bills and return to school. Can I inbox my resume and cover letter to you>
Absolutely! Or you can make a new post, here.

Do we have anyone volunteering to review resumes? I am no expert, but I have worked in technology for 10 years and am now almost successfully changing careers to litiagation support (paralegal). If I can help anyone with thier resume I'd be willing to look at and give my 2 cents. :)

It would be awesome to have a "second set of eyes"
Below is my cover letter & resume. Please feel free to attack it! lol I did not include my personal info in this post but it is on my letter & resume. Also, would you send them as one attachment or 2 separate when replying via email? Oh & this is NOT how it looks when printed out! lol
To Whom It May Concern;
I am seeking a leasing agent or assistant property manager position in the property management field and, in response to the ad your company has on Craigslist, I would like to be considered for the position you have to offer. As you can see from the resume that I have attached I have several years of customer service experience, along with 3 and a half years of property management experience with Oakwood Management Company.
While with Oakwood Management Company I was able to achieve a phone shop score of 85% or higher, as well as an in person shop score of 90% or higher. I was even able to achieve the "Emerald Level of Success"- Oakwood’s personal award level for leasing and property management personnel.
I look forward to meeting with you in person and talking more about the desire I have to return to the property management field, what I have to offer your company, and possibly what your company can offer me as a leasing agent or assistant property manager.
OBJECTIVE
To obtain a career in property management while continuing to pursue an education in both the property management and administrative assistant fields.
