I would like to thank that the DOD for screwing over the future Veterans the United States Airforce. Instead of leaving the AF with the DD 214 the day that you leave, now you must wait while Randolph AFB in TX out processes you the day that you leave, instead of MPF.So, anyone who is trying to receive unemployment, go for federal jobs and other jobs can't do so until they receive this in the mail, 2 WEEKS LATER!Maybe longer. The other services are NOT doing this. They have an advantage over the Airmen. Not only are they having to put their lives on hold for the AF once again, but that they are making the families get punished for being dependents. I believe that if there was an outcry from the spouses or any one for that matter, that the DOD or the AF would have to change this. Please help me, as a veteran, and as a spouse. When I tried to talk to a legal aid for one of my Senate representatives in NC. She told me that I could file a complant as a veteran but not as a spouse. "That it wouldn't matter as much." I need help in trying to help the future of other people future. Not only my husband's but the friends that I have acquired and once served with. Thank you!

I heard about this... I was one of the last that didnt have to go through the processes electronically. Just doing the checklist with the seperation office was a nightmare...I feel your pain on this one :-(
On my form it has: personal info like name, rank, ss# place of entry into active duty; home of record, primary specialty (afsc) record of service (ex. date entered and seperated, date of grade,etc) decorations, military education; remarks, type of discharge/seperation. character of service and a couple other little things. Its very important so as soon as you get it make several copies and stash them in different safe places because I hear its just as hard to get a copy!!
