As most of you have already seen, I posted in the group for everyone to list thier city & state. I am going to start doing research & hopefully find some local help for some of these moms in need.
I wanted to invite all of you to join in on the search with me! LOL If you ever get bored & need something to do just check the list in the group & start searching about one of the cities/states for local food, clothing, etc. help. You can then add links to all info you find here in this post. I will then be putting all of the links together & posting them in the group state by state.
I want some of these moms to take advantage of local help in thier area before just asking for us to help them all of the time! I created this group for us to be able to help moms in need but some of the moms are getting a little rediculas! There is no need to constantly ask for things when it is obvious they are putting no effort into helping themselves!
Thanks for all of your help!
Erin you are awesome!!
Some links that I can think of that should be available in most areas are:
www.freecycle.org--I try to use Free cycle alot
www.salvationarmy.com
www.craigslist.com--I check this one almost every day
That's all I can think of without doing a search right now.

this is a great idea i will try and find some stuff to.Also im not sure what all areas this covers but here we have a number to call, you just dial 211 and it is a help line. You tell them what state and city and what kind of help you are in need of and they can give you names and #s of all local help that is available it is a very nice resource.
I agree with you Erin. Now these Moms don't have the excuse not to be able to "find" help. But taking the initiative is going to be the problem or excuse. Hopefully this will help them. I will keep my eye out. 211 is in all states. I've used it.
