I'm lost

I'm lost, I have no style.  I just put on stuff that doesn't look terrible.  I have no idea how to accessorize.  I've been losing weight and I really want to start dressing better.  Where do I start???  Should I get a personal shopper?

No personal shopper needed.  We will help.  First, congrats on your losing weight...wooohoooo.   I am so bad at accessorising too.  Adding a bracelet or two and a necklace really does help.

And taking into account how much money you have to work with is huge.  Just adding one or two things at a time on a tight budget is understandable.

Do you have any fashionable friends or relatives that you could shop with that could go shopping with you and give you feedback and advice?

I suggest checking out the What Not to Wear website: http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/what-not-to-wear/ . They give good tips on fashion and show before and after pics. If you get TLC on TV at home, I'd suggest watching them. I've learned a lot that way. Dressing for your body type and coloring are what I consider most important. As for accessorizing, they teach you about how things have to "go" together, not necessarily "match."

Good luck!

No, you don't need a personal shopper :) Basically where you should start is picking out pieces of clothing you would of never thought to buy before. Make sure you pick up a little of every style and take the clothing to the dressing room so you can decide what looks good or not. Do you have a family member or friend that is big into fashion? It might help to bring them along with you to let you know what looks best. Accessorie wise, I'd start jewelry and belts. Find necklaces that match outfits, shoes as well. Even throwing in a cute belt helps make a boring outfit look fun :)

I just feel like all of the stuff that I like doesn't look good on me.  I have big boobs but I like peasant tops and they look horrible!  I don't have a lot of time to shop with three kids.  And I don't have any fashion-minded friends or relatives.  I've seen What Not to Wear but it just seems like I don't have the time.  LOL!!   I guess I need to make time.

Congrats on the weight loss. I too know how you feel. It is really a pain in the butt when you lose weight but are an in-between size so some things fit too tight or too loose. I ask my husband's opinion since he takes me shopping but sometimes I feel he is just yeah yeah whatever. lol

Ok, so maybe really long dresses may not be exactly perfect either.  You aren't hopeless.  One thing for sure, if you are ever given the opportunity to shop without the kid's.....that would really help.  I know how hard it can be.
