Hey ladies - I have naturally crazy frizzy "madusa" (as my husband calls it) hair, thats a little past my shoulder blades. It's wavy but in every direction possible. For some reason, the curling iron and myself dont get along!! Lol. I can never seem to get those cute curls so I end up just putting my hair up in a bun or straightening it. But I do want to try curling it and making it look good. What suggestions do you have???
Ohh! My hair is not like that so I have no tips. Sorry, but I do encourage you to wear it curled! I LOVE curls and want them so badly.
I'm not sure about specifics, but aren't there smoothing products for curly hair?
I use my chi to curl mine :)
I think we must have the same head of hair. Here is my piece of advice. Less is more!!!! Let your hair dry naturally, and the curls will form and the frizz will not. I use two products in my hair, frizz serum and I go to Sally's Beauty Supply and get something called Noodle Head curl cream. It is great.
Here is a picture so you can get the idea. All I did that day was wash my hair and let it dry.

Agree with FlyingMommy747. I don't have super curly hair but have looser curls. Anyhow I use a serum in my hair while wet and always let it air dry. Once it's dry I actually use a product for african american hair called JAM. It's a conditioning and shine gel that doesn't weigh my hair down yet gets the frizzies tamed and defines my curls/waves.
I also have curly hair. The only thing I have found to work with unruly curly hair is a process I made up my self which helps reduce frizz and get those pretty ringlets like Taylor Swift has. I shampoo at night, usually I dont' put conditioner in because my hair is short plus I have to get it wet in the morning to style it. Here is my system: Shampoo at night, wet and condition in the morning(upside down), when rinsing conditioner I comb thru with a wide tooth comb(really big wide teeth). Then rinse, once I rinse with my head upside down I gently ring out water with my hands don't squeeze the hair too much. Then still upside down I apply my gel, I use Redken ringlet curl perfector #07, and soft spin #05(for fine hair) if you have thick tight curls they have crystal curls also. I gently applied these mixed together in my palm I don't shake/rake through my hair, I actually squeeze it on to my hair and scrunch it at the same time. Once I have applied my gel I scrunch my hair with a cotton t-shirt. I know this is weird but it reduces the frizz. Towels create frizz. Then I use a diffuser to dry it usually upside down to get the best volume. I never touch my hair while it's drying and let it part on it's own. Hopefully this gets you those beautiful curls that you a wanting. Sorry it's so long!!
where do you buy that at? what does it smell like?

omg I see this all the time, people want curly hair and I have it and I want mine straight!!! LOL
Anyways, what brand of curling iron are you using??? I would go with a CHI or something better and try it. Good Luck on your curls
It used to be at Target but they got rid of it. Walmart or Sally Beauty Supply may have it, haven't checked though. It has a very subtle fruity type scent. Here's a link to the product website: http://www.softsheen-carson.com/_us/_en/lets-jam/index.aspx
