Red newbie..

Hey ladies, I've been wanting to try red lipstick so bad and wanting to step out of the box. Problem is I don't want a bright red lipstick and clueless what shade to try?

I have light olive skin, brown eyes and black hair. I tend to wear a lot of pink gloss/lipstick.

Thanks :D

Is it red red or like a orangey red?

I have a red gloss from The Body Shop that is a good red, but not overpowering.

Im a olive skin aswell.i have red almost similar to that. first picture. The way of finding the perfect red for your complexion .Before testing a red on your lips, see how it looks when you apply it to your hands. Generally if the color is clashing with the skin on your hands, it will clash amongst the skin on your face and it’s probably not a good pick. Any reds that have a cool “blue” toned base will clash with olive tones, which is why the classic bright red lip does not usually work.

Here is a example for us oilve skin girls..hope this is helpful for you :)

How about something like this to start? Revlon lip butter. It goes on soft, like a balm.
