So proud of her!

Léonie recently went on a field trip with her class. She had never been away from home on her own before (she's 7). I admit that I got myself worked up into such a state of stress that I'm quite ashamed of myself ... (sheepish grin).

Well, she was away for 3 days and we couldn't contact her. I have to admit that I stopped worrying when I put her on the bus with all of her friends. I mean - what could go wrong? I think I was more worried about the other kids teasing her if there were things she couldn't do (or the fact that she still needs a nappy at night).

She came back absolutely radiant! She loved it! I am so proud of her - I really don't know why I worry because every time a new challenge comes up she just deals with it!

By the way, here she is in the school playground as Tinkerbell ...

A 3 day field trip at 7? I'd be freaked out too! Way to go Mom for letting her go even though you were scared! So good to hear she had a great time!

What a great opportunity for her to be independent.   I have to admit that I too would have been freaking out -- with any of my children at 7, but especially my Alex!  I'm glad to hear she had a great time!!

Thank you, ldies, for your support! Seven does seem a bit young but ... her twin sister had her first field trip at 4 ... It's funny to think about it now but I never truend a hair when she left. If that doesn't show confidence in our teachers I don't know what does - lol. Anyway, Léonie went to Avignon and this is her with her class in the Pope's Palace (she's the one in pink/red in the middle).
