Its been a while since I've posted or even checked the site, but I need some input. Breckin is 4 1/2 yrs old now, still learning to walk independantly with a walker. He is somewhat of a mover at bed time, rolls, tosses and turns, but sleeps through the night for the most part. He still sleeps in a crib and I suggested to my Dh that we think about getting him into a custom built toddler bed. (My DH likes to build things, so I thought it would be nice for him to do it vs buying) He seems really hesitant and thinks that he isn't ready for that. I think that it would be really good for him and help him to further his independence. Now that he is able to get up and down from the couch, I thought this would be the next step. I did mention this to his teacher and she too thought it would be a great idea. I figured if we built it, then we could customize it to have the appropriate height, sides, handles and whatever else we wanted it to feature.
Any input? When did your child move from crib to bed?
