Cards Across America is a non profit ( 501-(3) pending) organization that serves as a central link between the public ( that’s You! ) and Government/Public Agencies/Social workers representing children waiting for "forever" families.

Cards Across America has many functions. The main purpose is to invite other kids and families to send adoptive children and teens greeting cards, such as Birthday, Holiday, Graduation and other related greetings. Thus encouraging the positive idea of adoption.
Some foster/adoptive children and teens move from one home to another. Disconnecting themselves from family and friends they have known. A child receiving a card from someone unanimously may elicit feelings of connected-ness. Many older children that are available have been waiting and may feel forgotten and fear that they may never get placed. By them receiving a card maybe, we can say " Someone does care! ".

I believe that by starting this simple request from the public - may draw more interest in children available for adoption. Many individuals have stated that some day they plan on adopting. Introducing the idea of sending a birthday card to a child waiting may ignite that desire to find out more about the child or tell someone else about it.
