How the method works

With years of research based on her former training as a dancer, Tracy has developed and invented her very own unique approach to fitness. Her method for transforming the body is based on targeting the accessory muscles (the small muscle groups). Strengthening the accessory muscles help to create a tight knit group of small muscles that actually pull in the larger muscle groups. This gives women a tiny dancer type body and men a skinny ripped body. In addition, she found the muscles also become bored quickly. Therefore Tracy always keeps the muscles guessing by routinely changing up the types of exercises and programs each client does.  Everyones body is like a snowflake. Everyone has different problem areas. Therefore, each client is given a program specific to transforming their problem areas.
Tracy found that most existing exercise programs dont have the equipment or repertoire of moves to take people the distance, so she invented the Hybrid Body Reformer (HBR), over 2,800 choreographed moves for the HBR, and a dance cardio video that compliments the muscle work. She has tested her method over a seven year period the results are incredible. With her method, she can take any person from any genetic background and transform their body. The amount of research and consistency of results is revolutionary for the fitness industry.

THE HYBRID BODY REFORMER (HBR)Designed by Tracy Anderson, the HBR is a 600 pound machine with an elaborate spring and pulley system that allows infinite angles of resistance to be used giving your body countless options and rotations to work the muscles. This one of a kind machine can only be found in Tracy Andersons exclusive studios.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT THAN PILATES?Pilates uses a reformer that only pulls from one point of resistance. Tracy designed the only infinite moving pulley system to hit the muscles from many different angles. She wanted a beast of a machine that she could perform elaborate moves on and there just isnt another machine out there that can do that.

Tracy believes Joseph Pilates was a genius and respects his works completely but her work and its results are very different. Pilates was after a few very specific things, a strong core and healthy flexible muscles. Tracy agrees with the importance of flexibility and long lean muscles but shes about balance and the whole body. The Tracy Anderson Method is its own unique program. Its truly a hybrid of movement.

Very interesting. I just recently became interested in Tracy Anderson and her method and besides her website I seem to be having trouble finding lots of info. I went ahead and purchased one of her dvds anyway, the post pregnancy one. I am glad I did because I did the web routine you posted today in WIOSM and I really enjoyed it. I am considering doing my research paper on her method instead of crossfit.
