My hubby is having his ACL repaired next month, the doc assured him that cadaver (sp) tissue is much better because the recovery time is alot quicker. Not to sound callus by any means but he is kinda freaked that a dead persons tissue will be used...I told him, that is why we are organ and tissue donors...duh sweetie...anyway..

has anyone ever had this done, or know someone that has had it done..he is kinda freaked...its not till next month, when his paid medical kicks in...please let me know

havent had it done personally, but took care of quite a few in nursing school. Cadaver tissue isn't only used in ligament repairs. We use it to fix kids leaky heart valves, and for alot of other things. Cadaver tissue is accepted better by the body then completely forgein matter and you get fewer complications that way.
