+2 to brewing skills

how do these (+) skills work? do they actually have any effect??

You own equipment that adds (+)'s to your Skills, and that equipment usually only stays in the area that you are in - it usually does not travel.  There is also equipment that can have a negative effect, so be sure to read the description before you buy.  It works both ways ;)

i keep buying the equipment that adds the (+) skills but i'm not sure it's having an effect on my brewing, hostess or marketing skills. like i have for example 3 marketing skill (+2) and i'm still having a hard time getting people in the door at  certain locations. so are the (+) skills not doing anything?

There are minimum requirements for each area, and from what I see, you should be in Percolate Park.  If you move any further, you are going to have a lot of no-shows and need a lot of Stardust.

They definitely have an effect. If you watch your recipe colors you'll notice they change as you add those +s. And for marketing you'll have less "no shows". =)

 oooh, is that why the colors are worse in MH than in PP or JV? My chai tea latte is green in PP and JV but red in MH

Yes. The Chai Tea Latte is a brewing skill of 25. In Macchiato Heights you have 23. In the other locations you have equipment that is helping your brewing go above 23. Make sense?
