So I decided the end of last month that I want to do cloth diapering, but its like we can't ever seem to find even a little extra money to buy any.. Not even like one or two a week! Really? Are we THAT broke that we can't afford one or two diapers a week? Our baby isn't due until September for crying out loud.. My mom even has a sewing machine to GIVE to me so I can learn how to sew and make them myself.. And we don't have the money for that either?! Why can't we do this?? We have NOTHING else for this baby except for a crib my mom bought from my cousin and hand-me-downs from his little boy.. We don't even know if its a boy or a girl yet.. AAAAHHH!!!!

I am sure it will work out. As far as making them, you can up-cycle and use t-shirts, towels, flannel blankets fleece blankets (all of these things you can find at a thrift store. And as a wayt to get started simple prefolds and diaper covers are a great solution for being frugal. fir the first few moths I am going to use diapers that I have made and prefolds with the whisper wrap diaper covers...all pretty cheap. Keep your head up it will work out

I remember reading a blog once where this mom or grandma cloth diapered their child for like less than $20.  They just spent money on some elastic and thread, I think.  And they used old tshirts and other things.  I tried googling, but I couldn't find it.  There are loads of websites that can help you to do this though.  I think it could be really fun to make your own and spend as little as possible.  It would be a challenge and you wouldn't be wasting money.  Also, you could use your creativity!  Good luck!

NO worries! :) You still have some time and everythign will fall into place. I know how you feel right now I have been there with some of my pregnancy's (I am 35 wks with #6) but somehow everything always works out. I have to agree with The other ladies you could get a really good start on your stash with free things in the house or thrift store finds. Fleece covers and prefolds are my fav and they work so well. If you dont have the money to buy the prefolds cut up some tshirts and make some soakers they would work just as well. You will be fine! :)

if you have a Kid 2 Kid near you check there often, i've found some awesome deals on cloth. also you can make them out of almost anything. my daughters first diapers were made from flannel and microfiber towels from sams club they are insanely absorbent and were one size. just work with what you have :)
