I went to Walmart last week and saw an 18 pack of very colorful, 100% cotton, washcloth they were $5.00.

I bought them to make them into inserts I figured I could sew them with my sewing machine (that I had never taken out of the box, so it was wishful thinking). I sewed ONE by hand I took a white wash cloth and folded it almost into three then took a blue one and folded it the same over it (so the white one was on the inside). I sewed three edges since one side didn't need to be sewed.

I took me so darn long to do because I wanted to make it very strong so I kept sewing over it, back and forth (triple stiching) I used it on Lily in one of ther FBs and WOW, did it work great. I was super impressed.

I was telling hubby about it and he encouraged me to open the sewing machine up, take out the DVD and watch it. So I did. Wasn't too hard as usual something that I had read on blogs and other places clicked while I was trying to get it all working together and made it easier for me to do what I was trying to do.

I sewed 2 in a matter of minuted...LOL

My stiches aren't perfect (YET!) but for inserts they aren't bad at all. I've tripled stiched them too ;0)

As soon as I fine one of my cameras I have to post pic.s, Hey I have to start some where...lol.

Way to go!!! I hope you have gotten to do more sewing! :)

I hadn't touched a sewing machine for over 17 years( and even when I did back then my projects weren't that great!:)) Then started making them for my LO and suddenly got addicted!LOL I've been making them now for a year and slowly starting to sew other things as well.
