Do you feel like you're all alone in this sometimes confusing, frustrating and scary place called "Special Needs"? Do you want someone to talk to about what you're going through? Someone to share your stories about the milestones your kids are achieving - the milestones that "non-special needs" kids have already met? Someone who will UNDERSTAND your joy when your non-verbal child calls you "Mommy" for the first time? Then you've come to the right place!
I won't guarantee we'll have all the answers to your questions, or that we'll have all the information on Autism or Down's Syndrome or anything else, but I do guarantee that you'll find support and understanding, comfort and a shoulder to cry on if you need one. You'll find someone to share in your joy at what your child has accomplished and hopefully, made a friend in the process.
So come on in, grab your beverage of choice, relax and make yourself at home.

My only caveat to joining this group is that you be nice! We're all in the same boat, so if you can't grab an oar to help paddle upriver, then you should probably turn in your life vest! No bashing or flaming will be allowed or accepted. You wouldn't want it done to you, so please, don't do it to others!
