I failed mine too.

I am skipping the 3 hour though, I failed it with dd #1 and still have all my testing supplies, so I started doing my finger pricks today. Last time I managed everything with diet changes, so I plan on doing that again. If my numbers get out of control I will go to a specialist.

Good Luck and don't stress, it almost always goes away after the birth.

I would not worry to much my mom failed all of her 1 hour tests with all 4 of us and passed the 3 hour 1 every time so dont stress to much till you do the 3 hour one =)

With the 3 hour test you have to not eat or drink anything for 3 hours and they give you the nasty drink again, then they draw your blood every 3 hours to check and see what your levels are. I've never had it done but i've heard what happens anyway. You aren't supposed to eat anything before you go in either and you can only drink water if my memory serves me correct. I would call to double check though. HTH and good luck.

Just because you failed your 1 hour doesn't mean you have geastational diabetes.  Thats why you are taking the 3 hr fasting glucose test.  I know alot of people who fail the 1 hr and then pass the 3 hr. So think happy thoughts.  Also if you do have GD It should only last a little beyond your pregnancy then your blood sugar should regulate back to normal. Its very rare that a woman with GD will have it after pregnancy but it does make you more prone to have Type 2 diabetes later in Life.

hey ladies the dr. postponed my glucose 3 hr test for 3 wks because i've been so sick she didn't want to get bad results bad from being sick and she said that might be why i failed the 1 hr but i dk because i was borderline with my son....anyways wanted to update you all and i also had an appt im measuring okay, babys heart rate was good and i gained a lb in a week..which puts me up to 11 lbs for 27 wks. its funny me and my hubby always compare our weight he'll get on there after me and today he tried to make me feel better and say my hoody probably weighed a lb lol
