I was told by a friend of mine the other day that a baby is not suppose to get water until they are 6 months old. Has anyone else heard of this? I asked her why and she said she was unsure..it is what her pediatrician told her.

breastmilk and formula are the only things a baby needs until 6 months of age unless its cereal

Additionally, just for good measure, you should NEVER water down formula for any reason (supposed constipation, making formula last longer, hydration purposes, etc.) because it throws of the electrolyte balance which can cause seizures in babies.

Do NOT give ur baby water!!! my hubby gave my son a bottle of water at 2 weeks  and when e told me I held my baby and cried for about an hour. I was TERRIFIED. It can cause alot if baby gets to much water before 6 months. I see youve been givin some links already, so check them out!!!!
