This picture was taken Memorial Day weekend in our backyard by my MIL. I wish the quality was better, but even though I have given her a better camera she still runs around with the disposable ones.

I love this picture because it captures Joshua in one of those rare moments where he is truly content and enjoying himself. He is usually very moody and grumpy, but when he laughs he laughs with all his heart and you have to join him. Just thinking about it brings a smile to my face. I love my boy. I just wish he would allow me to enjoy him more nowadays :(

It's good to be able to see those rare moments when your child let's you see "the real" them.  My daughter was very recently in the hospital with severe abdominal pain.  Normally she doesn't allow herself to show her "true self" (she's 16), but she and I became a lot closer during the last couple of weeks because of this time.  She had no choice in the matter really...I was the one taking care of her so she just had to deal with it...lol.

Enjoy the times (as rare as they may be) when they actually let you in their little bubble of space they hold onto so tightly.

What a fun shoot!  He looks like he is having a blast..   As our kids get older they get moody and don't want us around and as a mom it hurts, but while you have a moment in time between them growing up and becoming independent cherish that momemnt of happiness and care free day and you did by snapping a picture LOL.
