Okay, so I don't have something to turn a chicken in constant circles to make it that yummy goodness.  But I did start buying whole chickens recently and start cooking them.  It's actually cheaper than already cooked chicken at the store and with enough herbs tastes wonderful.  I'm sure some of you ladies have some ideas about how to cook a whole chicken as well.

You'll need:

aluminum foil, butter, salt and pepper, you favorite seasonings, paper towels, a whole chicken

Directions:

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Lay the foil down on the pan being used and smear with butter.  (Foil isn't necessary, but really makes cleaning easier.)

2) Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towels.  Rub butter all over.  Put seasonings (I premix mine in a small bowl ahead of time) all over and inside chicken.  Toss out the gizzards if there are any.

3) Bake for about 20 minutes a pound or until inner thigh reads 180 degrees on a meat thermometer.  Check the packaging before you cook the chicken to see if it requires anything different because there are different types of chickens.

Be real and unashamed.  Even of your faults.  -Amy Bloom
