Hi!  I am new to the group and looking for any advice that I can get on helping my 2 year old to sleep!  Her issue is she falls asleep for about 2 - 4 hours when I first put her down and then she'll wake up and that's about it!  If I land up getting 3 - 4 hours of sleep a night I am lucky!!  I've asked her ped. about it and I constantly get blown off, I have asked several of her specialists and I get no where.  I am truly at my wits end and am willing to except any advice you all are willing to give!!

My 2 1/2 year old does the same thing.  I have found that taking away his nap and making sure that he has a ton of exercise during the day usually makes him crash for about 5-6 hours at night.

Yep, I am right there with you.  I think my little on wake out of habit.  Sometimes however, he is hungry.  He falls right back to sleep easy enough, I just with I could sleep through the night.  That Monday he did not wake until 5:46 am.  I was so excited, then back to the same old waking the next night.  I do have to say, I am glad  I am not alone in this.

Thank you for the reply. It is nice to hear I am not alone regarding this. Maybe she wakes hungry or maybe dreams wake her.  Maybe it is just habit.  I hope they out grow it.  I am sure they will.  I would be so awesome however to get a good night sleep.

I would be curious to know if you have started potty training your daughter?  My daughter in now four, but had a terrible time sleeping at night.  As I look back now, I think some of it started when she began potty training.  It was almost as if it woke her at night because she was concerned or upset that she had wet her pull-up, but she wasn't able to tell me what it was that was waking her. And once she was awake, she realized she was hungry, which made it harder for her to fall asleep.  I often needed to feed her a snack just to get her to go back to sleep.  The good thing is, now... finally at four years old, she has started sleeping through most nights!

Hi,

I am new to this site and curently having the same probelms with my 2yr old son. He sleeps maybe 3-4 hrs and then up for the rest of the day. I have tried no naps, plenty of exercise and Chamomille tea (which seems to help a little) also, the pediatrician has him on Benadryl. All of these my husband and I have been trying seems like forever now and nothing is working. If anyone has any other suggestions my tired body would so appreciate it. I am so happy to have found this site and can maybe get some advice.

Thank you so much and i hope you all have a great day.

Hi, I am new to this group and as we speak my hubs has been  trying to get our 14 month old son down for the night for the last 90 minutes. THe babes also gets up every two to three hours. I am potty training and thought that it might be the wee sensation waking him so to hear someone else suggest this helps alot.  We cosleep after the babes wakes up the first time and I am breastfeeding but just wanted to share that I am so tired and also worried that the boy is not sleeping enough and not engaging in enough quality sleep.

Thank you

Jacs
