What time do your dogs go to bed? I'm working on making sure Percy is on a strict schedule to help with his house training. I don't want to crate him for the night TOO early and have him be bored. I get him out of his crate at 7 am.

Do you take up your dogs water at a certain time every night or just leave it out? I'm planning on taking him for his last walk at 9:30 pm. I'm still trying to decide when the best time to crate for the night is but the window is 10:00 to midnight.
when my dog was a puppy i took him out to go pee right before we went to bed a midnight. then put him in his crate till 7am. then he went out to go pee and eat.
Jackson goes to bed with either my husband or me. My husband goes to bed at around 10, and I go to bed usually by midnight. Jack also sleeps at the side of the bed, on the floor.
I have never had a puppy or a dog that was not housebroken so i have no advice. Have you settled on a time yet?
Whenever Badger drinks to much before bedtime I end up getting up so I try to take it up at least an hour before bedtime for him and I make sure all the other dogs have drank also. He can make it easily through the night if I do not allow him to load up before bedtime.
I've never taken up the dogs water. We bring them into the bedroom when we are ready for bed so their bedtime varies. When they were puppies I was getting up in the middle of the night to let them out. They grew out of it.
I have never taken a dogs water or food up or crated. Every dog I have ever owned( or been owned by) is self regulated. My current dog Ms Sophie is 1 1/2 she usally goes to bed while I am in the bath right before bed....she sleeps with me. When she was a pup she trained in like 2 days seriously . I would just take her out right before bed tell her to go potty then we would go to bed.
Taking up his water is something I've been told several times. I have not entirely implemented that yet. My personal life is a mess right now and it has definitely been affecting the dog. I did decide on a schedule, though. I'm slowly getting into it. We've had almost two days with no accidents and he is going to the bathroom must faster when I take him out. For some reason this dog likes to poop on flowers...sigh.
I REALLLLY need to deep shampoo my carpets again if this is every going to be successful. A large dog lived here before us and there are numerous signs of him around the house. I'm beginning to wonder just how well my carpet shampooer pulls up the smell.
Also, Percy is not fixed yet and has started marking things outside, have not seen him do it inside. Sigh...this is a huge mess.
I do not believe you can ever get dog smell out of carpets ever totally one reason is is goes way down to the Floors most of the time and it is almost impossible to do without taking up and replaceing carpet when we finally started replacing our carpets with laminate it was terrible way more signs since our dogs where trained totally when we moved in here and we had the living room and back room changed before we had our first littler it was just yucky allong with the 10 tons of dirt that had sifted through to the floorboards.
I would probably recommend a profession clean with some heavy duty equiptment if it is that bad. I have used Rug Doctor which did a good job I just never felt it really got down to the bottom of things.
