Hello my name is Sonya. I'm 33,married,a mom to two boys and I am originally from the U.S. but now make my home in The Netherlands. My husband is dutch and after much thought we decided to make the giant move here with only 4 suitcases. We've been here almost a year now. I'm going threw a nasty case of Culture shock but Im slowly working threw it. It's amazing the things you miss about your home and how many simple things you have to get used to in another country.
Anyway I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hello, Sonya,
Welcome to the group! I know how hard is to get used to live in a new country. I am originally from Guatemala and I moved to United Stated some years ago. I am telling you that it takes time and a lot of strengh to be able to feel at home. I can tell you that the things do get better with the time. I can really say that now, I don't get "homesick" as often as before. I used to cry so much that my poor husband was always so worried about me. I have been getting used to the culture and the people.
if you ever feel like talking or need advise, remember we are here for you!
a hug and welcome again,
Jandy
