A old friend called out of the blue  today .

We covered the usual  How are you and the kids chit chat  so I asked if there was a particular reason for the call .

Yes, she stated , I just called to say "Your Awesome!" , Well after a few initial moments in which I  stammered  and stuttered  I finally was able to choak out a  Thank you  amidst a bit of nervous laughter . " You have been on my mind dear and so I just wanted to call and let you know someone thinks your awesome.. gotta run ... talk to you later "

Well, I  just stood there holding the phone for a good three minutes  giving it  that  head tilting  baffled look with a slight smile on my face  before finally putting the phone back in it's cradle.

I started to laugh as I walked away and then noticed a warm  feeling start in  my body. A smile came to my lips and before I knew it I was  humming a little tune to myself .

By the end of the day I was glowing . Coming home from school  My teenage son   upon seeing mom all smiles gave me  little weird  look and asked .. What's with you Mom ...  in typical teenage fashion.

With out missing a beat I beamed at him and replied ..." I think your awesome!".

I got the same puzzled look  I'm sure I gave the phone a few hours before as he turned to go to his room  as he turned the corner I saw the beginnings of a little smile . ,

It is amazing how an unexpected compliment can bring back the sparkle in life and how sad it is that we don't find more occasions for it

So to all my freinds out there in Cyber land I want you to know today

I think your awesome...

And ask  that if this story brought a smile to your face or touched you in anyway.

 Please pay it forward ...

Tell someone in your life today How awesome you think they are .
