what is everyone into?

I am wondering what type of sewing you all do?  for instance do you have infants or small children?  DO you prefer decorative projects? do you have older children?  would you rather do useful projects or pretty frilly but otherwise uselss except for their eye appeal types?  is there a particular thing you have been wanting to try but have been afraid to do?  Is there a particular project type that you are fantastic at and would liek to share that with the group?

 

I am asking cause i am running out of ideas for projects and really need some info!!

I'm a pattern junkie.

 

right now I'm working on halloween costumes for my girls and dh.

oldest is a devil - bought a cool dress, and made a great cape for her - just have to hem it (I hate hems lol)

middle is a witch have a cool pattern for that - a few little details to finish and make a cape for her too.

youngest is cinderella - made that costume for #2 a couple of years ago. lol

dh is sweeney todd - making the white shirt, and vest. wrist braces and a belt pouch for the razor.

I make a bit of everything. I made tote bags and sold them for fundraisers last year.

made baby stuff but my girls are older now.

bags and aprons, totes and other stuff is fun.

making a dressy wool coat for each of my girls for christmas too (mccalls #5513)

I have 3 kids (6,3,8mon) so I like doing things for them.  I would rather do useful projects.  I like seeing people use the things I make.  I have only sewn one zipper, and I'm kinda putting off things with zippers because the intimidate me so.  I really like to do recons.  My favorite items to recon are wool sweaters.  I make lots of diaper covers for DD. Now, I am making sweater bags, fingerless mittens, and hats.  I am using my scraps to make an ugly blanket.  Just sewing random pieces for wool together as I have them leftover.  I will be really ugly, but really warm!! LOL
