Mats?

What kind of mat do you ladies have? Where did you get it? Do you like it?

I have a Danskin purple one that my sweet wonderful husband got me for my first mother's day present. It's ok but I think the traction could be better. How often should a mat be changed? How do you clean yours? I have used a vinegar/water combo on mine since it's all natural. I know it sounds vain, but I want a different one that has prettiness on it LOL

I have a pink danskin one, and I also think that the traction is not great. Maybe I need an upgrade too! There are probably better quality ones and maybe even "prettier" ones at sporting stores. That is the only thing I can think of! Good Luck!

I got mine at Ocean State Job Lot and it is not that good. But my sister got a really nice on at TJ Maxx for $15. I wash mine in the washing machine and I let it air dry

There are many websites for yoga mats but they tend to be pricier, of course. Many are made from eco-friendly rubber. I really want one that is made for serious yogis, ya know....not one from Walmart which is where mine came from. And I'd like one with a carrying bag. I'm going to go do some research and report back! Hope you guys are having an enlightened afternoon!

Namaste,

OK holy cow! Some of these mats out there on the internet are $80+!!!! Walmart, here I come! I wish we had a Target here. We just got a TJ Maxx.....maybe I'll hit them up before I go to Walmart. I'm trying to get my 2 best pals to start doing yoga with me and I got one of them a pretty mat from Walmart and I asked the other today what her fave color is and she said purple.....what a great excuse to trade in my purple one for a new one!!!! LOL and the purple is $9 while the ones with designs are $12. Looks like a new mat is in both our futures! I just wish I had the $$ to get a "nice" one. Oh well.........

Yesterday I was in sports authority and they had some really nice mats, much nicer than the danskin ones (I have one too) I believe the brand name was "Sarasa" and they were $25. I was thinking of you! LOL

Awe, thanks Kelly :-) There was a guy in Lowe's yesterday that works at our new TJMaxx and I asked him about the yoga mats and stuff they have there and he said they have a LOT. So I am way psyched and gonna go there as soon as I get paid. ANd get Christmas shopping done. And buy stuff for Thanksgiving dinner.......hmmm maybe I won't get one till after Christmas! LOL Well at least it's in my future!

I have a few different yoga mats.  My thickest and most comfortable one is a turquoise Wai Lani and it is several years old.  I also have a nice orange Gaiam mat.  And a few brightly colored ones which I'm not sure who made.  I also have 2 cute slate blue mats which have an arrow down the center of the mat to help keep you in alignment.  Yoga has at times been a family affair for us and we needed enough mats for all! lol  I got all of mine really cheap at TJMaxx, except for the slate blue, arrow ones which were part of a Yoga set and included DVD, blocks and belt, but that, too was very inexpensive at Tuesday Morning.

Just bought the Wai Lana from TJ Maxx. $12 and it is extra thick. However it was super stinky so I had to wash it in the washing machine.
