Name: Kelly

Location: Naugatuck, Connecticut

Kids: One beautiful crazy 6 month old monkey daughter named Laila

Yoga experience: I was first introduced to yoga when I bought a wii fit at about 2 months post partum. Right away I noticed that the breathing exercises helped relax me and that my balance and posture were improving. Since then I have taken a few yoga classes and bought some dvds. I still have a lot to learn though and consider myself to be a beginner, but so far I love everything about it!

Goals: My main goal is to use yoga as a tool to help me become a better person, parent, friend, and partner. I would also like to increase my flexibility and become more fit. Every yoga work out I try to ease myself deeper into poses and try to perfect them.

Anything Else: I am also a vegetarian and a returning college student (majoring in social work), I also love to run and am planning to run my first 5k in november :)

Name: Lynn Durrum

Location: Richmond, KY

Kids: A happy happy happy and silly 7 month old son, West (we call him Westie)

Yoga experience:I also didn't start until after I gave birth. I wanted to ease into working out and I have always been drawn to Eastern religion (I'm Buddhist) and culture so I checked out Namaste Yoga, a 30 min program on FitTV. It is really awesome. Not easy but not too hard, although there are about 3 episodes that feature the dreaded Crane postition-yikes! That's gonna take years of practice I'm thinkin'! I also feel I'm a beginner so it was refreshing to see that you are too!!! LoL

Goals: To know my body inside and out and be able to stay calm and centered during the craziness of life. Yoga teaches me to enjoy each minute because it only occurs once. I want to be fit for life also because the women in my family are pretty overweight and I want to stay active for my family. I want to be here a long time!!!!

Anything You'd like to add: I am thinking about going back to school (I'm loving the similarities here! LoL!) and studying to go into the medical field. It is very intimidating as I am 26 and work part time but I have money set aside by my incredibly generous grandparents and it just wouldn't make sense to NOT further my education and make more money to support the lifestyle I want for my family. We by no means live extravagantly, pretty much the opposite, but I still want it to be available "in case." Ummmm....I am pretty much hippie dippy but I'm trying to get back to my girlie side hahaha. I am also trying to grow out my hair really long. The End!!!

My mom adopted him from my cousin and my mother recently died. ...so DH and i are taking him in. AND we have 3 1/2 year old Micheal. He is my DSS. I have no biological children of my own ...yet.

Yoga experience: I've been doing yoga for about 6-8 months. I've never taken a class. But i have followed along to a few DVDs. I'd like to take a class some day.

Goals: My goal is to start doing my regular morning yoga and night time yoga every day like i used to before my mom died. I need to get back into that regular routine before i can focus on what and how i'm going to use yoga (for).

Name:  Tessa LaPay

Location: Pgh area Pa

Kids: 3! Evan 9, Olivia 3, and Jacob 7m

Yoga experience: I have always had an interest in Yoga.. I dabbled in it years ago but I didnt really start doing it until  after my daughter was born in fact it will be 3 years this Sept. I origionally got into it for the physical benefits.. I was trying to get into shape.. but immediately it began to unlock doors in my mind and free my heart.. I knew it was special and I fell in love with the mental and spiritual aspects of Yoga. I did it every day I took some classes but mostly did Yoga by my self at home I continued to do it through my most recent pregnancy but since Jake has been born.. Its been very difficult for me to find the time to do it and I really feel like my life is missing something. I have found however that it is possible to do Yoga in other ways.. I really consider whenever I become ONE with whatever it is I am doing to be doing it in a Yogic way.. so Sometimes I do get to do my yoga if you look at it that way.

Goals: Really.. just to start over... I would love to redevelop my personal practice..but to do so in a humble and open way. I was begining to advance but now I think I am in a new place in life and it would only do me good to start all over again. I have been thinking a lot about taking a class at least once a week and trying to do it at home inbetween. Eventually I would like to get to the same level that I had been before (in a new way of course) and then progress from there.

Anything You'd like to add: Just looking forward to being a member of this group and getting to know you all .. and I hope that this helps me in getting back intouch with my inner Yogi.
