I'm currently in contact with an online school called Wester Governers University. Just curious if anyone had heard anything good or bad about it. I really want to finish my degree in special education and this looks like the best option for me. But I want to hear from others who have information about this program.

Hi

I graduated from WGU in Dec 2005 with my BA and certification to teach PreK-8th grade. It was a blessing to me because I wanted to finish my degree and be home with my kids.

I had about 1 1/2 years finished in my degree. They took most of my credits. It took me about 2 years to finish. You are assigned a mentor to keep you on track. In the very beginning I asked to be re-assigned another mentor. After that it was smooth sailing. It was cheaper for me as well vs a regular university.

I am thinking about going back to complete my Masters in Special Education.

If you have any questions feel free to ask here or contact me personally. :)

Good Luck!

I have to people I know that have gone through it.  One got his teaching through them and the other one is doing her mater's with them right now. They both liked it.

Phew!  I was wondering about this too.  I just ran across their website tonight because I was trying to find a cheaper alternative to the University of Phoenix.  Early Childhood/Special Ed is what I plan on going for as well.  If you enroll, keep us updated on how it goes!  Good luck! :)
