Anyone out there doing this?  I am seriously considering it.  I am in KS, and not sure if it is the same in all states, but it is a master's program here.  Those of you who have been or are going through it, do you have to go through being licensed as and elementary teacher first or is it a totally different program?  I just requested information about the program today, so I don't know much right now.  I'd like to avoid all of the general teaching stuff and just get down to business, but I have no idea what kind of BA they like for you to have.

I am in Kansas.  But I do not go to college in Kansas.  I go through Liberty University's online program.  It probably depends upon the college.  I would check with whatever college you are planning to attend.

I plan on teaching Sped.  In Cali we get our BA in Liberal Arts and then go into the credentialing program for whatever you want to teach.  So that is another year give or take. Since I am getting it in both mild and serve it will be a bit longer.    We don't need a Master's to teach Sped.
