In addition to not cleaning, I have been painting the stairs.
Next on my list? Adding a gallery wall in this area.

Nice job! I've always wanted to do something to my stairs but I'm too chicken. I can't even bring myself to paint the risers white to try to update the look. My house was built in 1925 and to the best of my knowledge they are the original steps and balusters.
I love that Laurie! You have the patience of a saint with painting...wish it would rub off on me!
