Keegan was born April 27th 2009 at 8:13am he was 5lbs 11oz and was 19in long.  Beautiful little boy! He wasn't alone though! He was a twin! The youngest one too.  His "Big" brother is Marshall born at 8:11am and was 5lbs 15oz and was 18.5in long.  Another equally beautiful baby! I couldn't have been prouder of them!

About a month of so after birth I noticed his tummy was bloating out.

Turns out that bloating was an enlarged liver.

The enalrged liver?  Was caused by Neuroblastoma stage 4

On July 31st 2009 Keegan had a liver biopsy to confirm what the doctors suspected.

At the TIME there was also a marble sized mass that they thought was dying.

As of october 21st and 23rd?

They now realize, that the marble sized mass had atleast ONE living cell, and that cell?  Well, it's been busy.

The "marble" is now a "plum"

It is on the outside of his liver.

His liver?  Is now 50-60% better which is great! Wish I could say the same for the mass hanging out on the outside of his liver very close to spinal bone.

The mass is pushing against his spinal sac and is  growing into the gaps between his vertebre and could potentially cause some issues with his movement as he grows.  They cannot just go in and remove this mass because it is located near some major blood vessels and they do not want to risk accidentally hitting one of these vessels and killing my son.

Sooo on this Wednesday keegan will undergo surgery to put in a central line so he can start Chemo the first part of November.

He has a GFR scan on monday to check his Kidney function and we meet with the neurosurgeon who will remove the tumor once it is considered safe to do so.

Tuesday he will get a bone scan to make sure the cancer is not on his bones at all.  His MIBG scan on Wenesday of this past week showed the cancer is not on any other organs.

On Wednesday of this coming week when they do the central line surgery they will also do a bone marrow test to see if the cancer has gotten into his bones.

This will be Keegan's first time dealing with Chemo, and I am at a total loss.  I have no idea what is to come.

I know I am scared and frustrated, and so very very worried, and very sad.

I have two other children at home, Keegan's twin brother Marshall who is also having an issue with an odd lump on his head that needs to be looked at, but all of Keegan's appointments are interfering with Marshall's and I'm having trouble getting everything coordinated!

I also have a two year old daughter who knows something is going on with her little brother but doesn't understand what and sometimes gets jealous and frustrated so I don't know how to help her get through this as well.

Plus my wonderful husband who I love so much and who is a WONDERFUL father and husband.  I get sooo stressed out right now that I take it out on him poor guy.  I feel horrible for snapping at him all the time, I mean afterall?  We're all in this together, and we're both supposed to be here for Keegan and our other two children.

Sorry to vent...just needed to get some stuff out and tell about what Keegan is going to be up against the next severa months.

We'll be in the hospital for around a week, home for 3 weeks, and so on and so forth for the next 6 months....
